Video 1: Alaska Video Series, Part 3 documents people’s connection to the Kuskokwim River.

This River really is the center of our universe.  I also think there is a unifying factor in all of  us being from the same river, depending on the same resources from that river.

Video 2: George River Ecological Study: Summer 2016

Eleven students from the Middle Kuskokwim Region participated in an internship program on the George River in which they established six monitoring sites in various stream channel habitats that will be monitored over time. Dan Gillikin with the Native Village of Napaimute and Dave Cannon with the Kuskokwim River Watershed Council, both fish biologists, instructed the students on quantifying differing habitat types (e.g., beaver dam complexes, parafluvial spring brooks, mainstem channel). The group also conducted three-pass depletion trapping to document juvenile salmon abundance and collected chemical parameters such as pH, conductivity, temperature, and specific conductance.
